This 12-week training programme is designed to help improve general strength in compound barbell exercises over a 12-week period. Within this time, you are likely to see some hypertrophy (Muscle gain) occur alongside getting stronger. This programme is aimed at general populations and is not specific to any sport. The programme would be ideal for those with intermediate experience, looking to develop strength. This programme would be an ideal follow up from either the 6- or 8-week programme.
The programme itself is split up in to 2, 6-week blocks. The blocks themselves are made up of 4 training sessions, split in to 2 upper body and 2 lower body sessions. Within the programme, you have a much larger amount of freedom (relative to 6 & 8 week programmes) in terms of exercise selection / variations of exercises. This allows you to choose the exercises most suitable to your goals and abilities.
